A Varina Petisqueira & Bar opened its doors on 18th of October 2019 with the aromas of Portugal drifting through Norfolk's East Coast. Somewhat of a hidden oasis in the midst of fast food franchises; A Varina doesn't venture into gourmet designer cuisine either. Instead it offers the kind of soul-satisfying petiscos (Portuguese tapas) the Portuguese people like to enjoy while catching up with friends, watching a football game or after a long week of work to kick back and relax. From the traditional recipes accented with cold beer, delectable fish pastries, seafood salads and traditional scrumptious chicken recipes; there is something for every palate.
A Varina is a place for everyone: a romantic dinner date, an indulgent Sunday family lunch, a Saturday Latino party with friends or even functions or large groups. Come dine in a small corner of Portugal...in the Great Yarmouth seafront! Gena and Lee are the owners of A Varina who bring their love of Portuguese cuisine to Norfolk. Together they form the heart of what is essentially a family-run business.
We make our food from scratch with 100% fresh natural ingredients.
At A Varina, there is something on the menu to satisfy every palate.
